A burning ring of fire has mysteriously appeared in northwest China, terrifying the locals with its extreme heat. Fittingly enough, they're calling it a "gateway to hell". Nobody knows exactly what it is, or how deep it goes, because the temperature is too intense to get a good look. It seems we are wholly unprepared for this increasingly violent war against sinkholes.
Do you believe me now?!
The smoldering crater of fire appeared in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region of northwest China. We know that it's 3 feet wide, but its depth remains a mystery.
Despite looking like the work of a nearby Mt. Doom, there's scarcely any volcanic activity in the area, leading experts little choice but to assume it spontaneously combusted into existence.
The top of the hole is estimated burn at about 1,457 degrees Fahrenheit. Any brush placed in the vicinity immediately combusts.
Still, this is just further proof that the sinkholes are after us, and they're getting stronger by the minute. No one is safe!
