However, if you find yourself traveling through the Moroccan countryside, you might find yourself in such a place.
On the outskirts of the town of Merzouga, about 30 miles from the border with Algeria, is a solemn and beautiful old Muslim graveyard.
Each of the plainly adorned graves points east towards the holy city of Mecca.
They are each subtly decorated with the color green, which is the traditional color of Islam.
This unnamed graveyard is located in the heart of Morocco's breathtaking Erg Chebbi region.
Erg Chebbi is one of two large sand dune seas created by desert winds over the centuries. Some dunes in Erg Chebbi reach heights of almost 500 feet.
Not that I spend a lot of time thinking about where I'd like my body to spend eternity after I die, but this graveyard seems like a nice, peaceful place. There is just something about the infinite nothingness of the desert that makes it seem like an appropriate place for death.
