Footage of the Turin Shroud-esque face is even being looked at by paranormal investigators, amid claims it could have been a "sign to restore peace" after it allegedly appeared in the skies above Crimea.
The footage was said to have been filmed in 2014, but has been obtained by Mexican paranormal TV channel Tercer Milenio, which is investigating it alongside a number of other alleged sightings.
It is also studying recordings of mysterious crosses said to have appeared in the region in both Russia, the Ukraine and Crimea, from 2014 to this summer.
Reporter Fernando Correa, who is leading the probe for the channel, said the crosses could be signs from above to end the ongoing conflicts, and that the "face of Jesus" may also be part of the holy peace campaign.
He said: “(The face of Jesus) was another important sign.
"It happened in Simferopol in Crimea. Elana Partova took this picture of some clouds.
“It created the face of Jesus; a sign calling for peace in the area just like the crosses of light. That is why our investigation will continue.”
Some viewers of the image were convinced it could be even more significant, with one woman posting on YouTube: "It is him, you can see it is him…the Second Coming?"
But there were just as many who saw it as an amazing case of pareidolia - when the brain tricks they eyes into seeing faces and familiar shapes in textures and patters like clouds ( via express.co.uk ).
Wyndover posted: "That's an almighty face in the cloud - but just a face in the cloud none the less."
