You'll Never Believe Just What These Armed Guards Are Sworn To Protect

Like elephants, rhinos have suffered devastating population loss due to the horrible poaching of their ivory horns. They're essentially being killed so their tusks can be turned into trinkets. But things have become especially dire for the shrinking population of northern white rhinos.
All but wiped out entirely, there are only five northern white rhinos left in the world. That's it.

Of those, only one is male. His name is Sudan, and the future of his subspecies rests on his big shoulders.

He is currently living in Kenya, Africa, at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where they are working to slowly repopulate the magnificent creatures.

Part of those efforts include a 24-hour security team for Sudan.

A group of 40 rangers and a team of trained dogs put their lives in danger to watch over the rhino on their 90,000-acre property.

Unfortunately, funding for the rangers is hard to come by, and they are in desperate need of public assistance.

You can support their efforts by contributing to their GoFundMe fundraiser. You can also visit their website or like them on Facebook for more information on this and their many other conservation efforts.
Spreading their message and raising awareness for their cause is the only way these amazing animals are going to survive.
