If You Hate Bees, You'll Be Terrified To Know One Trucker Let 14 Million Free In Seattle

Heralding the coming of spring and everyone's least favorite insect, a semi-truck carrying 448 beehives rolled over, letting as many as 14 million bees escape onto one Seattle highway. Luckily, nobody was hurt (except maybe the bees, of course). As the Seattle Times reports, "everyone's been stung."
Guys, remember how we all hated winter? Well at least the bees were all dead back then!

At 3:30 a.m., the driver of this truck lost control and slammed into a guardrail, flipping the truck and unleashing the wrath of several million bees onto the highway.

Beekeepers and police were on the scene within an hour to assess the situation. Approximately 128 of the hives were saved, but many bees were executed by foam before the sun could agitate them and make them even more violent.

The bees were on their way to pollinate a blueberry farm in Washington. The bees themselves were worth $92,000, but their absence could cost the facility much of their seasonal harvest. It's a devastating blow to the farmers.

The bee swarm was so bad that it took several hours to clean up the mess. Even after the crew left, drivers were urged to close their windows and vents because the air was so saturated with the unpopular insect.

Seattle Time's reporter Evan Bush was quick to cash in, calling this event "beenado". For those of us with severe bee allergies, this word pretty much means the end of all times.
God, I hate spring.
